PHIX Cooling Carriers
The PHIX Cooling Carrier and Cooling Carrier XL are optional add-ons to the PHIX Characterization Package and RF Characterization Package, respectively. They consist of one or two thermoelectric coolers (TECs) on a mounting base suitable for easy connection to an optical table or heatsink. The units provide cooling to the packaged photonic integrated circuit (PIC) and, in combination with a thermistor and TEC controller, it allows the PIC to be kept at a constant temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I also use the Cooling Carrier for heating the PIC?
Yes, the thermoelectric cooler can also add heat to the optoelectronic module. To do this, simply apply a negative voltage to the TEC.
